It was a strong start to a month long partnership with Saucony as we welcomed Northeast Shadow Lead, Samantha Ben-Simon onto the scene. Sam helped us receive over 30 runners on what proved to be an exceedingly humid night in Beantown. Wear testing was available for the Mirage, Kinvara and Hattori to satisfy all levels of minimal enthusiasts. Always looking to raise the bar, Samantha brought along special edition co-branded punch cards that will determine the raffle at the end of the month. We were also joined by Kathleen, from Mix 1 who supplied everyone with great post run nutrition, including an early sampling of the new chocolate and vanilla flavors.
As we filed out of 480 Boylston Street, our crisp air conditioned surroundings shifted to a thick, humid environment. We divided into 3 groups to tackle 3-mile, 4-mile & 5-mile routes. No pace records were set as most runners dropped into a lower gear and took in the aftermath of the 4th of July celebration along the Charles River.
We arrived back at the store to an assortment of cookies and a tub of ice cold Mix 1 drinks. The run had concluded and the cookies were gone, but our night was just starting! Nothing rewards a sweaty run quite like a burger and beers – to that end, we walked over to check out the newly established 5 Napkin Burger on Huntington Avenue. We all picked our poison and went to battle with a 10oz monster; the burgers didn’t stand a chance. It was a great finish to fun night with a wonderful group of people.
Thanks to all the runners that came out and we hope you can join us again next week!
